A letra da versão de 'Mercy' lançada no EP 'Wide Awake In Europe'

Em novembro do ano passado, o U2 lançou o EP “Wide Awake In Europe” – de tiragem limitada (5000 cópias) – no Record Store Day, dia esse em que algumas bandas lançam produtos especiais e as vezes limitados para serem vendidos em lojas independentes.
O destaque do lançamento é uma versão ao vivo da música “Mercy”, gravada em Bruxelas no show pela turnê 360°, canção esta das sessões de gravações de 'How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb' (2004), que vazou na época, mas nunca foi lançada oficialmente.
Esta versão de 2004 tem 6 minutos e meio de duração.
No segundo show de Zurique pela 360º Tour ano passado, 'Mercy' foi apresentada aos fãs do U2 pela primeira vez ao vivo. E o que se pode ver foi que a banda modificou a canção, encurtou a letra e a duração da música, mexeu no refrão, adicionou novas partes na letra e um novo solo de guitarra de Edge.
E agora ao ouvir a versão do EP, podemos notar que novamente a canção traz novidades. A versão de 'Mercy' em 'Wide Awake In Europe', tem trechos diferentes na letra, que não apareciam na versão vazada em 2004 e diferente também das versões que o U2 vinha apresentando ao vivo na turnê '360°':
