Lançado em setembro de 1997, Popheart saiu um mês antes do single tradicional de Please.
Foi o primeiro EP do U2 desde Wide Awake in America, em 1985.
Lançado quando o U2 estava voltando para a América do Norte para a terceira parte da turnê Popmart, este EP apresentou quatro músicas gravadas ao vivo durante apresentações anteriores na tour. Três faixas foram gravadas em Rotterdam, em julho de 1997, e uma única faixa, "With or Without You" foi gravada ao vivo em Edmonton, Alberta, Canadá, em junho de 1997.

Lançado em 1990, este CD foi comercializado apenas nos EUA.
O U2 havia lançado seu último álbum 'Rattle and Hum' em 1988, e ao fim da tour Bono disse que a banda iria dar uma pausa pra sonhar tudo novamente. Em 1990 a banda ainda trabalhava em Berlin, no seu próximo álbum que chamaria 'Achtung Baby'.
Então a Island resolveu compilar este CD para lembrar o público americano que o U2 estava lá fora preparando algo.

With Or Without You e In God's Country são as mesmas versões do álbum 'The Joshua Tree'.
11 O Clock Tick Tock é a versão ao vivo do álbum 'Under A Blood Red Sky', e a leve diferença na música é o fade in e fade out que foram feitos na canção, por ela ser uma gravação ao vivo.

I Remember You, New York e I Will Follow foram gravadas em 5 de Dezembro de 2000, no concerto do Irving Plaza; em Nova York.

O vídeo de Beautiful Day (Eze Version) é uma versão alternativa do clipe filmado no aeroporto francês Charles de Gaulle (em Paris). Este vídeo foi gravado em Nice, também na França, e mistura imagens da localidade com sessões de estúdio.

O outro vídeo contido neste CD foi gravado em 06 de Abril de 1999, quando o U2 homenageou Johnny Cash em tributo na TV, com uma performance de "Don't Take Your Guns To Town". A performance da banda foi pré-gravada no seu estúdio em Dublin.

I Remember You é uma cover do Ramones.

Em 15 de abril de 2001, num domingo de Páscoa, Joey Ramone - o vocalista e grande líder da maior banda punk do mundo, os Ramones - morreu em Nova York, após seis anos de batalha contra um câncer linfático.

Um dos últimos músicos a falar com Joey foi Bono, na Sexta-Feira Santa. Quando soube que Joey estava em seus últimos momentos, seu irmão Mickey Leigh foi até lá e pôs para tocar no som portátil do quarto onde ele estava internado a música "In a Little While" uma de suas musicas favoritas do então novo album do U2. Ao final da música, Joey veio a falecer.

Curiosidade: no diretório do CD, está escondida em baixa qualidade a versão Biffco Mix de Elevation.
