O U2 anunciou o lançamento de seu novo disco, 'Songs Of Experience'!
No site U2.COM, para quem realizou a compra em pré venda do Extra Deluxe Box Set, uma música do álbum foi disponibilizada: "American Soul"! A faixa conta com a participação de Kendrick Lamar na abertura, que em seu álbum 'Damn', gravou uma canção chamada "XXX", e usou uma parte cedida pelo U2 de "American Soul". Ele sampleou o verso de abertura de "American Soul", em uma rotação mais baixa.
O encerramento da canção "Get Out Of Your Own Way" é com Lamar como "pregador", e ressoa para "American Soul", onde ele continua declamando.
"American Soul" traz elementos e trechos da canção "Volcano", que por sua vez traz elementos da canção "Glastonbury", que teve partes aproveitadas em "American Soul"!
Uma nota: Drum and Bass (também abreviado como D&B, DnB ou simplesmente d'n'b) é um estilo de música eletrônica que se originou a partir do old school jungle. Surgiu na metade dos anos 90 na Inglaterra. O gênero é caracterizado por batidas rápidas, próximas a 170 BPM. O início do D&B remete ao fim dos anos 80. No decorrer de sua história, incorporou elementos de culturas musicais como o dancehall, electro, funk, hip-hop, house, jazz, metal, pop, reggae, rock, techno e trance.
